CONTRA-TIEMPO fuses salsa, Afro-Cuban and contemporary dance to create an invigorating urban dance theatre experience. What distinguishes the company, as well known for teaching as performing, is the deep connection they have to their community. For this event, CONTRA-TIEMPO presents a sampling of their electrifying repertory. Families will learn about the clave (a rhythmic pattern used in Afro-Cuban music) and have an opportunity to join in as CONTRA-TIEMPO members call out to the audience, asking for enthusiastic response.
