Description

Founded in 1971, the Japanese American Cultural & Community Center is the largest Asian American cultural center in the U.S. & the preeminent presenter of Japanese & Japanese American arts & culture. Located in Little Tokyo, the historical heart of the Los Angeles Japanese American community, the JACCC was the dream of visionary Issei & Nisei (first and second generation) Japanese American pioneers to create a permanent center for the community and its future generations. The mission of the JACCC is to present, perpetuate, transmit, and promote Japanese and Japanese American arts & culture to diverse audiences. The JACCC campus includes the Isamu Noguchi JACCC Plaza, the Artani/Japan America Theatre, the Center Building, the George Doizaki Gallery and the James Irvine Japanese Garden.
