Keith Glassman presents a trio of new dances incited by events that have occurred in coffeehouses across the globe. Accompanied by an original score played live on accordion, drums and keyboards by Daniel Corral, the works are performed by Rachel Lopez and Louie Cornejo in up-close-and-personal settings. The program includes: "Beats (Espresso Romano)," which references pioneering modern dance, beatniks and jazz percussion; "Hereafter (Arabica Nus Nus),"
a solo inspired by a 2011 suicide bomb attack in a Marrakech coffeehouse; .and "Wave (French Roast)," which percolates from Jean-Luc Godard and Francois Truffaut’s cinematic styles. Throughout the performance, the choreographer invites discussion about the work and the events which inspired him to create these dances.
