This free, family-friendly event features activities for all ages, including arts & crafts workshops and storytelling for kids, an opportunity to meet Pasadenas Centenarians, live music and entertainment, food carts, raffles and prizes. Don’t miss the gala "Synchronized Cake Cutting Ceremony," a visual extravaganza in honor of the summer Olympic Games that will find Pasadena’s Mayor and City dignitaries wielding knives under the direction of Olympic swimming legend John Naber. Special presentations will spotlight ART -- Renowned local mystery writers Naomi Hirahara (Mas Arai Mysteries) and Dianne Emley (Detective Nan Vining Thrillers) will clue you in on where they get ideas and inspiration. NEIGHBORHOODS -- Explore the unique character of Pasadenas diverse neighborhoods, learn how they developed, and discover what makes them distinctive. SPORTS -- In honor of the summer games, well celebrate past and present Olympians of the Pasadena/San Gabriel Valley. TECHNOLOGY -- Time travel through the fascinating world of business technology with Anderson Business Technology representatives and their display of state of the art office machines 1912 to 2012. TRANSPORTION -- Vintage cars and bicycles share the spotlight with stories of the Pacific Electric and Mount Lowe Railways. WATER --What does it take to ensure that almost 170,000 people in one of the countrys driest regions can turn on the tap every morning? Pasadena Water and Power celebrates its 100th birthday!
