Recovering Artist to present work to Redbird during Open Flute Circle at Redbird Powwow
Greg Pereyra, who lost half of his brain in an automobile accident in 2006, is still creating art. An image from Redbirds Forest Recovery Project inspired him to create a painting that he and his father Hugo, and friend/teacher/mentor/Cherokee flutist Robyn Bryant will present to Redbird during the Friday Night potluck and Open Flute Circle.
The goal of the Forest Recovery Project has always been to bring the healing power of nature to large audiences in the form of beautiful images, using those images to instill an interest in and understanding of the ecology of fire and its place in the long term health of natural ecosystems.
The presentatation will occur at 8PM, and Robyn may ask Greg to join her on the microphone for a flute duet.
The flute circle is open to the public. All wind instrument players are welcome to participate.
The Forest Recovery Project is sponsored, in part, by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors through the Los Angeles County Arts Commission.
