El Encuentro de Jaraneros finds its new home at LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes to celebrate the 11th Annual Son Jarocho Music Festival.

Join us as the burgeoning local Son Jarocho scene comes together for its signature yearly event! This FREE festival is literally a Meeting of Jarana Players, but more explicitly a celebration of the driving, high-spirited jarocho music and dance of Veracruz, Mexico. Son Jarocho is named after the small strummed rhythm guitar that is the genres cornerstone.

This spectacular event is produced in collaboration with LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes and El Comit Organizador del Encuentro. Hosted by KPFKs Betto Arcos & Rafael Figueroa of Radio Ms from Veracruz!

Enjoy a headline performance by Veracruz native Patricio Hidalgo. And performances by over 18 Son Jarocho groups, including Quetzal, Las Cafeteras, and much more!!
