Dangerous Corner by J.B. Priestley
"Dangerous Corner" by J.B. Priestley is a mystery-thriller with the added bonus of being a ghost story as well. The play stars: Seth Peterson (recurring/co-star "Burn Notice," "Providence," soon to be released "Intent" starring opposite Eric Roberts); Jordan Wall (series regular "The Glades," guest star "Harry’s Law"); Matthew J. Williamson (co-starring in the movie "Sedona," last seen CCTC "Danny and the Deep Blue Sea"); and Cortes Alexander (Broadway "Liza’s at the Palace," "Marilyn: An American Fable." Director Gary Lamb has taken the approach of bringing the character of the dead brother Martin into the action as a ghost in order to take this play to a new level of intrigue. The play has been moved from the early 1930’s to the early 1960’s and utilizes song from before that time period such as "My Funny Valentine" and "Smile" to name a few. Throughout the play we learn about sordid affairs, lies, thieves and murder perhaps, as Robert, Martin’s brother, pushes the cast of characters to delve into the past and find out the truth about his brothers suicide. There are songs, laughs and intrigue a plenty as we turn many dangerous corners to find out the truth and ultimately learn that it may be better to let ’sleeping dogs lie’ then to be torn apart by the truth.
