The 1954 B-movie horror classic “Creature from the Black Lagoon” returns to the big screen in all of its campy glory as UCLA Live presents an afternoon with the fearless musical innovators, the Jazz Passengers as they provide live music, outrageous dialogue, and groovy sound effects to this creature-feature flick. This special Halloween event takes place at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 31 at Royce Hall on the UCLA campus and is approximately 80 minutes with no intermission. Provided with hip, retro 3-D specs, the Los Angeles premiere of “Creature from the Black Lagoon” combined with the original live score by the Jazz Passengers brings to mind the imaginative and popular radio-play style. As the film rolls on the big screen, members of the Jazz Passengers provide improvised commentary along with sound effects.
