Actress and performance artist Nathalie Broizat’s address on the universal subject of love and romance with this fantastically surreal dance-theater delight.
Broizat’s work strikes at a universal level, employing the ridiculous and grotesque to handle issues of identity and absurdity. Toying with narrative sensibility, she invokes the surreal by allowing audiences to enter her immensely creative mind, fraught with contradiction, wit and seduction. Broiat has been part of the performance art scene in Los Angeles since 2003, when she moved from France via New York. She has been awarded the prestigious Fulbright scholarship of excellence to study performing arts and acting. Over the past four years, she has worked with legendary performance/theater rebel Rachel Rosenthal. Her work has been presented in prestigious venues such as MOCA, Redcat, and Highways.
In addition, the evening also features a line-up of extraordinary collaborators, including outsider artist Jarred Cairns, performance artist Clint Steinhauser, international performance artist and musician Ariadna Rodriguez. Pre-performance work will be presented by visual/performance artist Alexis Hunt, and performer/singer Marnie Castor.
