The goal of the Department of Cultural Affairs is to enhance the quality of life for the City of Los Angeles’ 3.9 million residents and 25.1 million annual visitors. We accomplish this goal by generating and supporting high quality arts and cultural experiences. Our challenge is to be a catalyst for the delivery of art, culture, and heritage to every neighborhood in the City of Los Angeles. The Department operates through its various Divisions and Programs: the Community Arts Division, the Marketing and Development Division, the International Cultural Exchange Program, the Cultural Grants Program, the Youth Arts and Education Program, the Public Art Division, and the Historic Preservation Division.The Department of Cultural Affairs manages arts and cultural centers, including Arroyo Seco Art in the Park, Banning's Landing Community Center, Barnsdall Arts Center (Barnsdall Park), Gallery Theatre (Barnsdall Park), Hollyhock House (Barnsdall Park), Junior Arts Center (Barnsdall Park), Municipal Art Gallery (Barnsdall Park), California Traditional Music Society, Canoga Park Youth Arts Center, Craft and Folk Art Museum, Croation Cultural Center of Greater Los Angeles, Eagle Rock Community Cultural Center, Lankershim Arts Center, McGroarty Arts Center, Performing Arts Firehouse, Watts Towers Arts Center, William Grant Still Arts Center, and William Reagh Los Angeles Photography Center.
