World Class Professional Theatre in the Heart of Burbank. The Colony produces plays in all genres: contemporary and classical, comedy and drama, intimate and spectacle, and is well-known for its World and West Coast Premieres and ambitious musical presentations. In 2000, after 25 years, The Colony moved from its original 99 seat theater to a brand-new, 276-seat state-of-the-art facility in downtown Burbank. The Colony won the coveted Ovation Award for Best Play (Larger Theatre) in 2001 and 2002 and has been named one of the "25 Notable US Theatre Companies" by the Encyclopedia Britannica Almanac 2005.
