Heidi Duckler Dance Theatre (HDDT), formerly Collage Dance Theater (CDT) was founded in 1985 by Artistic Director Heidi Duckler, to take contemporary dance out of the studio, off the stage, and directly into the community; to develop a new definition for the language of dance informed by environment. The company is committed to creating art in non-traditional venues such as Laundromats, gas stations, locker rooms, and the L.A. River. HDDT fuses contemporary dance with visual art, theater and music, integrating community experiences with professional performance to animate and redefine architecturally significant spaces.
