The Upstairs @ the Market Art Gallery is a unique program at the City Market of Los Angeles providing a free venue for artists to exhibit their work to the community amidst the flourishing downtown industrial district. The gallery is housed within the City Market of Los Angeles. Incorporated in 1909, the City Market of Los Angeles operated as a produce market for 100 years. The produce is gone, but the unique architecture of the old buildings still remain.
