The Santa Clarita Valley Historical Society was founded in 1975 to stimulate public interest in the history of the Santa Clarita Valley and surrounding areas, to collect and preserve the stories and artifacts which relate to local history, and to provide educational services to the community. Heritage Junction consists of 8 historic buildings moved from other locations in the Valley and saved from destruction, including the 1887 Saugus Train Station. The Society maintains a museum of local history and holds bi-monthly public meetings with presentations related to the history of the local area.
