Terry Allen, the artist, and Phillip Levine, the poet, collaborated to create Corporate Head in a humorous jab at the corporate attitudes that characterized the political and economic climate of the 1980’s. Levine’s poem highlights the pressures facing business executives and employees.

The slightly-larger-than-life-sized sculpture “depicts a businessman bowing and burying his head into the physical and corporate structure symbolized by the building.” To read the poem placed on the ground, notice that you have to assume a position similar to that of the sculpture.
