Installed within the walls of the elevator cabs in the Central Library's Bradley Wing are old library catalog cards beginning with the phrase "The Complete Guide to...." On the elevator shaft wall viewable through a long glass window are catalog cards corresponding to the subjects found on each floor. As the elevator is in transit, these cards rush by in a blur and are visible again when the elevator stops. The Library's seven million catalog cards were considered obsolete when the Library changed to a computerized system with the opening of the renovated Library.
