Stretching overhead the Central Library’s hub like an exotic canopy, Renee Petropolous’ colorful 36' x 36' painting covers the vaulted ceiling of the Goodhue Building’s first floor lobby. Activating the central node of the library with bright primary colors and asymmetrically placed geometrical patterns, the starbursts, rings, and names of famous literary figures from Los Angeles interweave in an abstract montage celebrating Los Angeles’s literary life and contributions.
