The Petersen Automotive Museum is dedicated to the preservation, collection and interpretive study of the automobile and its influence on American life and culture, using Los Angeles as the prime example. Located at the corner of Wilshire Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue, the Museum anchors the famed Miracle Mile. The Museum was recently named the premier automotive museum in the United States by The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times and Time Magazine. Encompassing more than 300,000 square feet, the Museum's three floors of permanent and rotating exhibits and lifelike dioramas feature over 150 rare and classic cars, trucks and motorcycles. Visitors are invited to walk through, not by, dioramas and displays and experience the automotive history of LA.The Museum's greatest mission is education and more than 500 students come to the Museum every week on school field trips and other outings. The Museum's educational initiatives are designed to help the public learn about history and social studies, science and technology, math and visual arts all through the window of an automobile. All floors at the Petersen Automotive Museum are available for special events and provide a unique setting for corporate or private functions. We have an exclusive catering list as well as offer some rental items at a discounted rate.
