photodisruption

photodisruptionThe Kristi Engle Gallery presents seven artists focusing on photography as a material rather than a medium. The featured artists create new forms by either adding to or taking away from the photograph in an attempt to disrupt the seamless flow of the traditional photographic print.

Exhibition closes August 26th.

Kaleidoscopic Gaze

Kaleidoscopic GazeActing as painters, sculptors and excavators, L.A. artists Christine Morla and Eric J. Smail attempt to blend geometric sculptures, mathematically planned paintings and intuitively drawn, colorful wall installations, fusing personal narrative with structural and formal concerns.

This exhibition is at the 18th Street Arts Center and runs until September 29th.
